TRAINING WEEKEND

The VMRG combined annual Monitoring Training and AGM weekend will be held at Wonga Hut Campground, Wyperfield National Park on 12-13 October 2024

The VMRG conducts an annual Training Weekend on the second full weekend in October, and training is mandatory for all prospective monitors before they become monitors. Training includes field work requirements, safety in the bush and use of the technology. The program starts at noon on Saturday 12 October and ends after lunch on Sunday 13 October.

The VMRG’s AGM will be held on Sunday morning. A notice of the meeting agenda and nomination forms will be sent to members in mid-September.

For members, the cost of training is included in the membership fee, provided it is paid on or prior to the weekend. Saturday night dinner is a highlight of the weekend and catering is provided by the Rainbow Scouts. The catering charge covers Saturday evening meal with desserts, Sunday lunch and continuous hot water for refreshments. You will need to bring your own utensils.

Registration for the 2024 VMRG Training Weekend is now open here.

Please choose appropriate “Add Ons“ before checking out.

Registration closes on 2 October to assist with catering.

This is a fantastic weekend of activities and an opportunity to socialise with great people who are interested in conservation.

New members and prospective members are most welcome.

Go to the new members section to become a member or obtain a ticket to come along and see what it involves.

The large camping ground at Wyperfeld where the event is held has composting toilets, limited water but no power and is suitable for all types of camping, including caravans.
