The VMRG combined annual Monitoring Training and AGM weekend is coming up on 8th & 9th October 2022 at Wonga Hut Campground, Wyperfeld National Park.
The VMRG conducts an annual Training Weekend on the 2nd weekend in October; the training is mandatory for all prospective monitors.
Training includes field work requirements, safety in the bush and use of the technology. The program starts at noon on Saturday and ends at lunch time of Sunday. The VMRG's AGM will be held on Sunday morning. A separate notice of the meeting agenda and nomination forms will be sent to members.
For members, the cost of training is included in the membership fee, provided it is paid on or prior to the weekend. The cost for non-members is $35 per head.
Saturday night dinner is a highlight of the weekend and this year it is being provided by the Karen Community from Nhill. A catering charge of $20.00 per head (children under 16 free) applies. The fee covers Saturday evening meal with desserts, Sunday lunchtime and continuous hot water for refreshments. You will need to bring your own eating utensils. New members and prospective members are most welcome. Go to the new members section to become a member or to renew your membership. Membership fees can be paid at the training weekend.
Registrations for the weekend can be lodged with the Secretary or the Treasurer, as per the Registration Form. Please send registrations by Monday 3rd October to assist with catering. A detailed program of activities will be forwarded to you on receipt of a registration form.
The large camping ground at Wyperfeld has composting toilets (three sets), limited water but no power and is suitable for all types of camping, including caravans.
